Summer brings fire through the heat of the sun, long days and energised bodies. At this time of year we go outside more, do more cardiovascular exercise and sports activities which circulate more blood through the heart. Fire is the energy of summer, it gives us warmth and the capacity to love and be loved. In the Five Elements system fire rules the heart and circulatory system, It is a time to nourish the heart, small intestines, spleen, and pancreas. To balance and synchronise with the element of fire this Yin workshop is devoted to restorative postures that open the chest, lungs, and arms, containing the meridian lines that connect to these organs.
