Jivamukti Yoga Workshop with Andrea Kwiatkowski
Hosted by Grace Bowker
The Bhagavad Gita describes yoga as skillful action, when our actions are conscious we can develop a way of living that becomes more skillful, less reactive to what happens to us and more about seeing the world as coming from us and our state of mind.
How do we develop a way of being in our practice and use the tools to act in our life ?
The Gita describes a karma yogi as one who is living a selfless life. A life built on the foundation of compassionate living , service and charity.
"The way we treat others will determine how others treat you , the way others treat you will determine how we see ourselves and the way we see ourselves will determine who we are " -Sharon Gannon
This Jivamukti workshop will explore a standing and balancing sequence . Standing poses develop a quality of steadiness in our bodies and our connection to the earth.
The connection to the earth is our seat , our asana and is described as being sthira, steady and sukham, easy and joyful. When we are lacking in confidence or unsteady in our actions, we don't only feel that unease in ourself but with all other beings including animals and the environment.
Chanting, meditation, scripture study and hands on assists will also be included in the day.
This workshop is for yoga practitioners, teachers, and student teachers.
